Song Submissions

How do I get my song in front of DOC and A&Rs?

Every song is personally reviewed by DOC and considered for a feature across our social media platforms. From these reviews, DOC selects standout songs to be featured on the DOC Knows Music Show, giving you the opportunity to have your music heard by A&R executives and industry professionals.

What happens when DOC selects my song?

Your song becomes DOC Select. You get a message and an email, and the song carries the DOC Select badge. It stays in the DOC Presents Catalog permanently instead of coming off after 30 days, and DOC Select songs are listed first in the catalog.

How do I submit my songs to the DOC Presents Catalog?

Every song you submit goes into the A&R Catalog, whichever opportunity you choose. You can also send a song to the catalog alone by choosing A&R Catalog Only on the song submission page. Every song stays in the catalog for 30 days and is shared with our network of 600+ A&Rs. If your song is selected by DOC, it stays in the catalog permanently, giving your music ongoing exposure and opportunities to be discovered. In the last 14 days before a song comes off the catalog, or any time after, you can renew it from your dashboard.

Can I purchase extra songs?

Yes. When you have used your plan's songs for the month, buy a song pack on the Pricing page. Extra songs don't expire. They stay on your account until you use them, and your plan's monthly songs are always used first.

What is a song rating?

DOC scores your song from 1 to 5 in five categories and sends you the rating. It arrives in your messages and can take up to 2 weeks. Some plans include ratings, and you can buy more on the Pricing page. DOC's Rating Rubric explains how each score is given.

What is a video review?

A video review is a personal video from DOC about your song, and it includes a song rating. Add one when you submit a song, or buy one on the Pricing page and use it on any of your songs from your dashboard. It arrives in your messages and can take up to 2 weeks.

Opportunities

Can I get my song featured on the DOC Knows Music Show?

Yes. Every song you submit is considered, and DOC and the team pick songs for each show from the submissions. If your song is picked, you get a message and an email with the show and the date.

Can I submit my song to multiple opportunities?

Yes. A song can go into as many open opportunities as you like, once each. Entering a song you submitted earlier uses one song submission and puts the song back on the catalog for 30 days. Fill in your profile first, with your artist name, contact name, city, phone, and Instagram.

Artist Page

Do A&Rs see my Artist Page?

Yes, once you publish it. A published Artist Page has its own public address, so A&Rs, fans, and anyone you send the link to can open it.

Do fans see my Artist Page?

Yes. Once it is published, anyone with the link can see it without an account. You can unpublish it at any time, and then only you can see it.

Fan Club

What is required to have a fan club?

You need a plan that includes the fan club, a published Artist Page, and payments set up through Stripe. Stripe checks your details, which usually takes a few minutes and sometimes a day. Then create at least one membership level and switch the fan club on for your Artist Page.

Do I need an Artist Page?

Yes. Your fan club lives on your Artist Page, so fans can find and join it only while your page is published.

How often do I get paid?

After each fan payment, your share goes to your Stripe account, and Stripe pays it out to your bank account or debit card on its regular payout schedule. You never give DKM Artists your bank details. Use Manage payouts on your Fan Club page to see your balance and payouts.

What are the fees?

Out of each fan payment, DKM Artists keeps 10% and Stripe takes its card fee, about 2.9% plus 30 cents. The rest is yours. Your Fan Club page shows what you take home from each membership level. If a fan disputes a charge, Stripe's $15 dispute fee comes out of your later payments.

Your Account

Can I cancel my account anytime?

Yes. To stop paying, choose the Free plan on the Pricing page. You keep your current plan until the end of the period you paid for, and then your account moves to Free. To delete your account, go to your Account page. Deleting starts a 7 day countdown, and you can cancel it during that week.
